My name is David Hurst and I retired from Great Lakes Chemical, a LanXess Company after 37.5 years. I have been married to my my wife Martha for 28 years. We have 4 kids and 7 grandkids. I have served on the El Dorado Parks and Playgrounds Commission for 6 years. I served 6 years on the El Dorado Campfire Council
Population Decline: I believe it is imperative that we work closely with our Chamber of Commerce to not only find ways to keep our Companies here but to find ways to make it attractive to other Companies looking to re locate or open up new businesses. Infrastructure: I believe as a leader of this great City it is our duty to make sure we have good streets to drive on, good water to drink, proper sewer drainage. I don’t think we spend enough of our tax money on these things. Safety: to have an attractive city for prospective employers or visitors we have to make sure our city is safe for ALL citizens to enjoy our city. Transparency: My goal is to be as transparent as I can be and provide my constituents with how we are using their funds. All citizens of El Dorado pay the same tax rate so we all should benefit .
