Mike Loftin has been your Union County Judge for the past eight years. And as the Judge he is responsible for the disbursement of funds of a $22 million total budget and oversees 80 employees .
Mike has been on the forefront of Economic Development projects since taking office in 2011. In the past eight years, in Union County, over $1.2 billion dollars of investments have been made by new and existing industry, creating over 625 new jobs. He was one of the key people involved in bringing Conifex Saw Mill to Union County which resulted in 135 new jobs and an investment of $87 million. Unemployment has been cut in half and our per capita personal income is higher than the State average.
Mike ran the Union County Highway Department eight years prior to becoming County Judge. Mike has been a successful business owner in Union County for over 30 years. He was the owner of a construction company and Equipment Rental and Sales company prior to becoming the Highway Department supervisor. He knows his roads and he knows his equipment. He knows what it takes to purchase and maintain that equipment and he knows what it takes to run a successful and productive maintenance shop and highway department and all of the people that it employees.
Mike is familiar with all levels of city, County, State and federal governmental agencies. He knows who to call to aid in keeping our County connected and moving forward and to ensure that Union county is benefiting from the procedures set in place by each agency.
Mike also works closely with South Arkansas Community College and it's Board of Trustee's and all of the area School's to ensure that education is promoted and encouraged.
Mike and his wife Phena have four children and 2 grandchildren. They attend Immanuel Baptist church. They own and operate a successful residential and commercial rental business. They are both invested in this community and have volunteered much time and energy to many of our non-profit organizations. They both serve on various boards in Union County so that they can do their part to build a better tomorrow for all of our children and the generations to come.

I will continue to work with the Quorum Court to insure that all citizens of the County are represented fairly and that our tax dollars are spent wisely and equally throughout the County. I have and will continue to work with the mayors of all the incorporated cities within Union County on various improvement projects that benefit all of our citizens. I will continue to have an open door policy and full transparency in the Union County Judges Office. And I will also continue to do my part for Economic Development. And I will use my experience in finance, administration, and construction to continue to grow Union County and keep it moving forward.
